How Much Longer
It's a dog's life, to be sure, being dragged from pillar to post and left for ages outside all manner of retail therapy outlets. I wonder if she's buying me any treats.

What a sad looking little dog! Nice capture!
chunter: Isn't s/he just! Paw little thing.
Excellent photography, conversion and presentation Colin. I often feel the way that dog must be feeling
chunter: Thanks for that generous feedback Neil. I used the Black and White adjustment layer for the conversion and then inverted a freehand, heavily feathered selection around the vicious beast. Then I adjusted the black and midpoints in Levels to create the vignetting.
Dogs are just stoical. Why stand up barking with frustration and anxiety. richard
chunter: Indeed they are. Thanks for visiting, Richard.
The classic fed up dog! Great shot
chunter: Thanks Bill.
Nice light and really strong expression on the dog's face. Great shot. Makes a very nice black and white.
chunter: Yes, it was crying out to be converted and I'm improving my rather poor technique all the time. Thanks for your kind comment.
Those eyes tell the story of his life.....I hope his 'boss' will take him for a nice brisque walk after this...very well captured!!
chunter: The poor thing looks so old Im not sure a brisk walk will do him/her any favours! You're right about the eyes though; thanks Astrid.
super capture Colin, i also have a dog and the sad faces she pulls are so human like its scary
chunter: They are so human like sometimes, aren't they? Thanks Tim.
Hi Colin,
Really strong image, Totally sorted !! JOhn
chunter: Thanks John - I was quite pleased with they way it turned out.
wonderfully converted...and an excellent sight/expression to capture...
chunter: Thanks PhotoSam - I'm no expert with black and white, but I have improved a bit and this one turned out quite well.
Aw bless! What a precious expression you have captured. Lovely composition and presentation, too. (:o)
chunter: It was the expression that caught my eye as I was roving the city with my 70-200mm looking for targets. I snapped this one off and a fraction of a second later, a passer by got too close and the dog stood up.
Thanks for your visit Roz.
It certainly is a dog's life Colin - mind you they know how to ham it up to get sympathy from passing strangers ;o)
chunter: I suspect you're right about that, Blackdog. Thanks for dropping in.
This is what I love about dogs, Colin: they look so lost until their master comes back! What a perfect capture.
chunter: You're absolutely right, Ginnie; it was very animated moments later when the owner returned.
A grand capture Colin his expression says it all.
chunter: Thanks Les. There are days when I feel like this too.
What a sweetheart, great expression, good use of black and white.
chunter: Thanks Jewlya. This shot begged to be converted so I obliged as best as I could. I'm still practising the technique but I'm pleased with the way this one turned out.
Ah, so cute. What a great capture. It seems like you know exactly what this wonderful creature is thinking!
chunter: Well, it's what I would be thinking in similar circumstances. But they are cute when they're like this, aren't they? Thanks for your visit, Kay.
thats a great looking vignette there colin. it really lifts the atmosphere of the picture.
chunter: Thanks Nev. It really is 100% better this way than the nothing original.
Excellent lighting, like you say made something out of pretty much an average pic
chunter: A very average pic, Nigel. Just goes to show there can be more to image making than taking the picture. A combination of seeing, imagination and post-processing can work wonders.
