photoblog image Poppies and Ploughed Field

Poppies and Ploughed Field

This one is a bit more static than the kite, but all the same, there was some movement of the poppies in the wind.

A telephoto zoom (75-300mm) at the long end has compressed  the scene to create this abstract.

I like the lines of the field in this picture. It's very dimensional. wink

Poppies look so much nicer than the garish yellow rapeseed.
chunter: Yes they do, don't they, but we don't see them very often in this neck of the woods.
nice lining.
chunter: Thanks Chantal.

nicely framed!
chunter: I think I'd ust been reading about using long lenses for landscapes to compress perspective. It certainly abstracted the scene.
Interesting colour variation: those poppies are fluorescing!
chunter: Red and green together are renowned for creating a 3D effec too, especially when viewed on slide film.

i like the composition Colin, very graphical in style. mal
chunter: Thanks Mal. it was an experiment with a lens i wouldn't normally think to use for a landscape. An attempt to 'see' something else other than the bigger picture.
I se the ploughed field....but the poppies?
chunter: They were moving a little anyway, but posting them to shutterchance has done something with the colours so they are even more splotchy.

Hmmm. I like the composition, apart from the poppies going off the bottom edge, but I think your processing looks a little iffy.

I'm wondering if your curve has followed the line of the ploughing! The poppies are looking a little overcooked to my taste and the field colour looks a little odd too! smile
chunter: I'm with you all the way on this one, Steve. It's not as it was when I posted it. The red in particular has bled badly.
perfect perfect I love the brown color with a strong one, just I say perfect.
chunter: That's so kind of you to say so viruta. Thank you.
Wonderful ! Right to my likeys !!
chunter: So pleased. Thanks Zebigleb.
