photoblog image Wedding Shoes

Wedding Shoes

Possibly the last photo I will post for about three weeks as I head off to Calgary and the Canadian Rockies for some R&R.

I created this from a single, straightforward  image of the pearl-covered shoes. Can't remember exactly what I did in Photoshop as it was largely an experiment with different tools and techniques, but let's see if  can recall some of it::

There must have been a few other slider adjustments of this and that along the way, but this is the crux of it.

Catch you later with some stunning scenery, I hope.

  • carefully select shoes and delete the background to leave the shoes on a transparent layer.
  • duplicate the layer, flip horizontal and transform (CTRL+T) to resize. Drop opacity and move new layer down.
  • duplicate original layer, flip vertical and slightly skew to create reflection.
  • create new blank layer and gradient fill. Reduce opacity and place 2nd in layer stack.

There must have been a few other slider adjustments of this and that along the way, but this is the crux of it.

Catch you later with some stunning scenery, I hope.
