Fabulous, I love the colors and the border is a part of the picture, the totall view is a joy to the eye, so deleicate, very nice jobe here.
chunter: Hi Astrid. Thanks so much. It's always nice to know that the images I make appeal to some people.

This was so simple to do, though. My wife arranged these fake flowers in plain ceramic vase to complement the colour of our walls. I simply moved the sofa to make some room near the main window for natural light and started shooting.

For the border I just added some canvas around the image, selected just the additional area and then gradient filled it with two colours selected from within the picture.

The EOS 5D is a full-frame camera, so even at 400 ISO, digital noise is negligible.

chunter: So glad it draws such a favourable response, Ginnie. Sometimes the simplest ideast urn out the best.
...and the outcome is awesome !!
chunter: Awesome! Now that's not a word I hear every day in connection with my work, so I'm delighted that's what it does for you. Thank you so much for saying so.

Boredom can be very productive by the looks of this beautiful capture.
chunter: As per above,it was so simple this didn't alleviate the boredom for long ... so see tomorrow's too, which produced a framed print for my sister-in-law to hang in her home.

Boredom is a great producer of fun and excellent innovative pictures. Excellent composition and presentation.

Stay the distance.
chunter: Oh Louis - "Stay the distance." Now that's put me under pressure. I regret to say that one of my known (to me) failings is inconsistency, which I am trying to overcome but I've still a way to go on that yet. But OK - I'll try harder.

Thanks as ever for your involvement and encouragement.
This is such a simple and soft picture Colin, and thanks for letting us know how you put it together. I love the treatment of the border.
chunter: You're welcome Brian. The simplicity of the subject is also reflected in the simplicity of its production. There was very little for me to do. In fact I think my wife did most of the work by arranging the 'flowers' in the vase.
Make a great greetings card Colin. Superbly executed
chunter: I'd love to make a card out of this, Bill; thanks for that suggestion. It'd probably work quite well or an individual or very small run.

For commercial purposes, though, I would probably need to make several more to give them a variety, so I need to make consistently god images like this. Presently I don't!

And al together they make a rather beautiful picture, I agree with Bill, somebody'd buy it for a birthday or even a wedding card
chunter: Thanks Ellie. I'll give hat some thought. I've got a temporary job for a couple of weeks just now so it's another project on the back burner for a short while.

All the best.
