photoblog image Yellow Wranglers

Yellow Wranglers

In addition to the highly decorated vehicles and horses and the colourful bands that paraded through the streets of Calgary to mark the beginning of the 2006 Stampede week, other colourful characters entertained the crowds. Here are two of them who capture the spirit of the proceedings.

Update: It wasn't until after queuing up several images at the beginning of the week that I saw that the theme for this week is "3".  I had thought of finding something else more specific to the theme, until I realised that by chance, the image for today has 3 hearts in it, so I  decided to leave it as my entry.

This is a lovely shot Colin. Very colourful.
chunter: Yes indeedy - it was a very colourful and musical parade, and more importantly, good natured. Thanks Jide.

Nice to have you back smile looking forward to some interesting shots.

Starting off well, lovely colours and dialogue.
chunter: Thanks Mr Skee, although I think I'll bore you before the end of next week. I'm looking forward to presenting the rodeo and landscape shots later on, and one or two wildlife shots if I can rescue them.
Sweet shades...hehe..
chunter: They're all the rage here! I should go and get some right away and set the trend in your neck of the woods.

great event impression, nice and fresh of colors.
chunter: Thanks Chantal. They were a jolly bunch of people and made it easy for me to get some good shots.

Another good spot and nicely composed. A subtle choice for the theme today - even though I saw all 3 hearts I hadn't made the connection!
I wonder if you can get thouse shades in the UK...
chunter: I sincerely hope not!

Did you sharpen this shot?
Suby
chunter: Hi Suby. Sharpened? I honestly can't remember, I've been processing so many. Some looked better with it and some didn't. Where I sharpened any, it was a small tweak of USM and then faded a little if it looked too much. Why do you ask - is this too much?

Lovely colours. Those glasses are really wacky!
chunter: Aren't they though. Thanks deji77.
